Wow, again another long time since I put up any updates…
Been a little lull in the action on the car this past month, but it is slowly coming back together. Well sort of, some things are coming back together while others are being dismantled…madness… I’ve been pretty busy over at the Crazy Davey Racing site as well, so I haven’t had much time to write here.
One thing we changed; We decided to go with a new drive shaft during the last month, there have been two drive shaft mishaps with folks I know this past summer and I decided better ‘safe than sorry’.
Anyhow, Below are some new pictures of the fuel system being put in with all new braided fuel lines from the tank to the carb, a newly fashioned mounting plate for the fuel regulator, and the fuel lines on the carb itself.
Right behind the fuel system …the partial overhaul of the interior is in the works as well ….The front bench seat is now out as is the entire dash, and the preps for putting in the new updated fusebox and wiring from Painless are underway as well. Once that’s wrapped up the roll bar from Chris Allston Chassis Works will be put in and the car will be re-assembled.
I really have no idea now when all this is going to wrap up, I’ve tried to guess at time lines before, multiple times and I’ve failed miserably each and every time…it’s always something causing delays and set backs the last few months… so, I guess now alls I can really write is…it’s going to be done when it’s done. Not that a project car like this is ever really done, but for now it’ll be running and in one piece again…er…soon?
Okay…enjoy the update pictures..hopefully more to follow ‘soon’.
Well it’s been a little over two weeks now, but there is a little progress on the Monte, here are a few pictures of the Aeromotive Fuel system and it’s plumbing going in.The Holley 870 is installed, and we’re just just working on getting it hooked up.
One of the things I’ve never been real happy with on the car was the tail pipes, they always hung below the line of the quarter panel, I know that seems picky, but it’s not the way GM made the car, so that’s been fixed you can see in the below pictures how they are now tucked up underneath the rear quarter panels now. It gives the back end of the car a much cleaner appearance.
Just tinkering with a new plug in that allows you to flip through pictures like you would a real photo album, enjoy!!
Just a few new pictures, the valve covers have been installed now, as well as the steering shaft, although I had to order a new universal joint for the rack and pinion unit, as the last shop had damaged the other one ..*sigh* The power steering lines for the rack and pinion power assist pump are installed as well.
