Well here we are, October of 2008, it’s the end of Ramadan for those of the Muslim Faith and marked by a holiday called Eid.
To celebrate Eid, I enjoyed a great big breakfast with one of my Muslim friends, his wife and her sister this morning. It was sort of like ..I don’t know, how to describe it, not like Thanksgiving, but kind of. Sort of.
It was simply nice, after a month of observing Ramadan, and not having even the ability to go out for a breakfast, it was just nice.
No I am not Muslim, but one, everything is closed during Ramadan including restaurants, from sun rise to sunset, and two..getting caught even if you’re not a Muslim eating drinking or smoking during the daylight hours will land you in jail.
More than one American Ex-pat or other non Muslim has found that out the hard way.
So September was kind of a long month over here in Q8.
But there is good news on the Monte Carlo, it went to the shop yesterday for it’s next round of upgrades. Yay!
Right now the rear end will be removed, and a 3:83 Gear and Posi unit will be installed. I might do the rear control arms as well. But this will replace the single wheel drive 2:73 gear in there now.
The 454 will get treated to its long over due ignition upgrades as well, with the addition of a MSD Digital 6 ignition control, MSD high voltage coil, MSD Distributor, and all new MSD 8.5 MM wires.
I’m toying with going ahead and building and installing the LS6 heads as well, and see where the car is after that as far as performance off the line.

In what passes as brutal unfettered honesty for a Democrat this was what a Flori-DUH Democrat said in regards to Sarah Palin.

- Push Turn single lever UP (that means signal a lane change to the right, since half of America seems to have forgotten what a turn signal is for).
- Carefully check your mirrors for any cars and or ESPECIALLY Bikers in you rear quarter.
- Change lanes, and as he passed you, wave, and flash him a thumbs up. That’s all you can do.
But hey, there’s always the brave few that just have to try it ….so to you…..Failure to follow these simple instructions will probably result in, at a minimum, a very embarrassing ass kicking that only you and Bones will know about, and at worse….. an ass kicking caught on film as your “tuner” gets its ass handed to it and spread all over YouTube for the world to see.

Well, it’s my first real post after the server crash at Hosting Matters, so I guess I’ll make it a full on nuclear one.
I read once that it takes, on average, 7-8 years for any US president’s economic policy to bear any true weight on the U.S. Economy. The information I read stated that after they finish their terms, the effects do not really take any true bearing on the economy for years, the longer they are in the shorter the span as they have more time in office to get their policies enforced.
Seems to make sense to me, vast as it is, the juggernaut that is our economic structure, once moving is akin to trying to stop an 900,000 lb Aircraft Carrier at speed, it just doesn’t happen very quickly.
In fact for you trivia hounds; it takes almost a mile and a half for a Fully loaded Carrier to stop from a mere 20 knots of speed. But I digress.
What’s the point of this “8 years” theory? Only this, it is just about 100 days shy of a certain U.S. President leaving office.
His name was William Jefferson Clinton. A Democrat. A Liberal, “Americas First Black president”.
President Clinton and his band of merry of robbers in the Senate and Congress…were a driving force behind the CRA, or Community Re-Investment Act, which in turn forced deregulation and banks to loan money to people that would not otherwise qualify based on tried and true benchmarks such as Credit History and Uh…the ability to replay the loan…..

Add in assorted RINOS and other meddling in the economy by government and you get where we are today.
