Time for an update!

The rear end housing and new BMR control arms are back in the car….here are some shots of every thing after it was put back in, the bottom of the car was also cleaned and repainted with chassis black.

The 12 Bolt rear end housing over haul is almost complete and  ready to go back into the car.

I hadn’t planned on doing this to this level, until we found the Ring and Pinion Gears that were installed last year, had been done improperly and were badly worn after only a few hundred miles :-(   Another wasted effort, not to mention the cash that was spent to do this twice.

I elected to stay with the 3.73:1 ratio and replace the axles while it was all apart with new heavy duty Moser pieces. We found the left axle had shown signs of being  grooved and was prone to leaking, so that meant it was time for new axles as well.

The rear brake calipers and discs have also been mounted.

Here are a few shots of the progress.

The car’s moving along at a pretty good pace these days, the last week saw the addition of the new brake booster, master cylinder, and the rack and pinion is now mounted as well.

I put up a new page of pictures on the suspension area you can visit it at this link

Here are a few photos of the Work on the Manifold & Heads as it is wrapping up, the Weiand Stealth Manifold has been mated to the Heads, then gasket matched and machined. The heads are assembled, and the final clearance work on the block is complete.

I hope to get some new pictures up of the block and heads assembled here soon.

If you look close you can see the material that was removed on the manifold to mate it with the LS-6 Heads.

There’s a lot happening right now and I am pressing forward with hopefully getting the car ready by late May.

Make sure you check out the updated Suspension progress pages as well as the history page ! :-)
