The L.A. Times hasn’t ever impressed me as being overly objective – okay that’s the nice way to put it – I wouldn’t use it to line a bird cage for fear my bird would catch liberalitis or some other strange malady that would turn the poor beast into a drooling welfare leech. Wait – I don’t have a bird…never mind.

Having said that it’s a tough situation for me to actually wade through the L.A. Times website and stomach the stupid found there. Alas – know thine enemy and all that …So I saw a link somewhere – and I clicked, and I read, and my stomach churned ….

Reading the following article by George Skelton I simply had to discuss this a bit further.

Here’s a link – fair use and all that  – credit for the article goes fully to the L.A. Times

L.A. Times opinion  article on an armed populous

Now for some of the things said in that article.

The nutty notion that a citizen can be heavily enough armed to fight off the government went up in smoke near Big Bear Lake.

80 Million or so gun owners in the country – a majority that believe in the 2nd Amendment and that it’s purpose is to arm the citizenry against tyrannical despots are “nutty” – Well, we’re certainly off to a “respectful and civil” exchange of ideas here now aren’t we George? But let’s continue on with Mr. Skelton’s screed…it only goes downhill from here.

This may sound crazy to most normal people, but there are some obsessed gun owners — although a minority, surely — who believe they need to arm themselves to perhaps combat government oppression.

Well – if it sounds “crazy to most normal people” then is just MUST be – after all who better to know “crazy and normal” then some pampered spoiled  beach rat masquerading as a “journalist” that lives in the land of crazy – the land of fruits and nuts – California. Sure.

Guess we’re right back to that civility issue – that one issue liberals are always squatting and sh*tting on the carpet like ill mannered baboons over but refuse to practice in real life. See Mr. Skelton – two can play that game – I’m “crazy and obsessed” and you’re a ill mannered Baboon that leaves feces on people’s carpets…shall we continue? Let’s!

Mr. Skelton, the carpet defiling baboon, then goes on to list a variety of so called “E-mail comments” he has gotten from those “Nutty Crazy” types that believes the 2nd Amendment is about much more then hunting. He goes on to list half a dozen supposed E-mails, none of which look very “nutty” to me – such as:

From John, referring to the 2nd Amendment: “We have that right, primarily, so we can defend ourselves against the tyranny of government. The Constitution didn’t provide for gun ownership so we could shoot turkeys at Thanksgiving.

Johns right , I fail to see the crazy here – But we’re not done yet folks – as sure as the sun rises in the east Ol’ Mr. Skelton has to trot out the race card – with another “E-mail”

Then there are the right-wing racists, like Pam:

“When that redistributionist Marxist [deleted] Obama decides to take away decent people’s homes and businesses and give them to the black criminal gangbangers, the garbage illegal aliens [deleted] and the rest of the low information welfare/food stamp crowd who voted for him, we who have our guns can meet them at the door, loaded and ready.”

Like I said the sun also rises in the East – So until I see the E-mail and that means with SMTP address and IP’s Mr. Baboon  – Er I mean Skelton – You’re pushing the limits of credibility here. Seriously; because you said someone named Pam wrote this racist rant – doesn’t make it so. Why heck, I can easily claim someone named “George” sent me an E-mail too …

Then there are the carpet staining baboons like George:

“When President Obama speaks – I get so excited I tinkle in my man panties a little. When he tries to re-distribute from the rich to help the poor I get all warm and fuzzy and my heart goes pitter-patter-pitter-patter…gosh! Obama makes me so happy. When Obama says he’s going to take away everyone guns I just have to go poo on some right wing racists’ carpet. “

Okay- onto some more of this so called objective journalistic masterpiece of a baboon er, damn-it, I mean Mr. Skelton’s After much hang wringing about right wing crazies and racists – Mr. Skelton finally comes to an answer:

And there are many like Bryan, who asked: “What if the German Jews had been well armed” against Hitler?

My answer: They would have been slaughtered by the Nazi Panzer divisions.

Think so Mr. Skelton? – Perhaps you’re right, but your little snide answer probably isn’t correct – at least not when you take various other excerpts from history. Perhaps you’d care to explain why one of those same vaunted Nazi Panzer divisions like the 6th was ground to a halt in places like Elsenborn Ridge during the Battle of the Bulge against a force they out numbered vastly with armor – the Allied Infantry, the 99th infantry division to be specific, fought them to a stand still. The 99th Infantry Division as a whole, was outnumbered five to one,  but inflicted casualties in the ratio of eighteen to one. Do you know the main difference between a Panzer division and an INFANTRY division? I’m guessing not. But basically it’s tanks vs. ground troops, and in this case like many others those ground troops prevailed. Against tanks.

Or maybe we should discuss Afghanistan and the Soviet Union? How an armed populace of “crazy and obsessed” people drove a nation that at that time was considered a superpower out of it’s borders. A nation that could wield Jet’s Tanks, Massive artillery pieces and entire armies of soldiers. Probably shouldn’t tho – it’ll make you look even more like a howling baboon if we do.

Continuing on, he guardedly admits but not really, at this point that perhaps there’s some validity to those crazy types argument with this snide little dismissal:

OK, enough. Suffice that too many people think that private citizens should be sufficiently armed to take on not only the local police, but the Army the Navy, the Marines and even the Air Force.

Once he blithely dismisses any actual examples of an armed resistance being able to stand up to the weight of the all powerful state he is so in love with – he launches this gem.

They hang onto the words in the 2nd Amendment about the people’s right to bear arms “being necessary to the security of a free state,” but ignore the part about the militia being “well regulated.”

No, sorry, but we don’t ignore a single word of the 2nd – we damn well know what it says – after all – we’re the ones that are completely “obsessed” with it now aren’t we? The ‘militia” is US you ignorant sand flea infested baboon. Look up the meaning of the word and maybe you’ll get an idea of what a militia is – hint its not the National Guard.

Next is this stinking pile of baboon droppings:

I’m certainly no constitutional lawyer, but it should be obvious to everyone by now that the right to bear arms can be “infringed.” We’re not allowed to bear bazookas. Or machine guns. No automatic rifles. What’s mainly at issue these days are semi-automatics — so-called assault weapons — and mega-magazines that hold more than 10 rounds.

Yeah don’t say – Oh the ignorance in that line just makes me want to – well grab my handy bazooka and launch one right through this guys front door.  Pity I don’t have one… No one – not a single gun owner, not the NRA GOA, CCRKBA, None of them are advocating for such, All us crazy gun owners understand there is a difference between weapons the US Military employes and what we use. It’s, as you said, obvious, however that still does not allow the Federal Government to strip us even of more arms. Nor should we allow them to do so. Period.

And to up the stupid quotient even further, Here we go again:

We hire cops to protect us against criminals and crazies. The idea that we should allow citizens to be as well armed as the police — and, unfortunately, too many are armed better — is simply idiotic.

Idiotic huh? More civility, this guy’s a fountain of the stuff – so I’ll return it in kind: And perhaps you drooling half wit liberal baboons’ ass you missed the fact that the SCOTUS ruled a ways back that the PD has no legal requirement to protect us? They got all the shiny toys all the scary stuff – fully auto rifles, huge inventories of weaponry – armored vehicles – and they have no obligation under the the law to lift one single finger to “protect us”.  Maybe that gives you a warm and fuzzy – but all the same – Thanks, I’ll cling to my guns in the mean time.

And in closing he says this:

The citizens’ militia needs to be better regulated.

Guns for hunting turkeys and skeet shooting, yes.

Guns for protection against bad guys, sure.

Guns to overthrow tyranny, irrational. That’s why our founders gave us the ballot box.

And to that I say, 50 Million Americans rejected you and your man-love bunny Obama’s argument Nov 6th 2102.  And as you and your leftist cadres insanely continue to push to strip us of our rights  – some have started to think that ballot box ain’t working so well these days – you do know what the 4th box is don’t your Mr. Skelton? The one that has to be used when the ballot box fails?  The last one in the list?

Irrational – Crazy – Nutty – Racist – all great ways of demeaning honest Americans that intend on guarding our civil rights  – you got them all in there no doubt.  The only thing irrational here is your drooling and psychotically needy love affair with the all powerful state yet the utter mistrust of your fellow citizens.

George you get my newly minted  baboons’ ass award for the week. Congratulations.

baboon
